Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x

To clear browser history in Internet Explorer:
  1. Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
  2. The Internet Options dialog window will appear. On the General tab, click "Clear history".
  3. Click "OK" to erase history.
  4. Wait for it to finish
  5. Click "OK"
If you clear history manually, you can't clear index.dat file content that stores information where you have been online as it is used by Windows all the time.

Internet Explorer 7.x

To clear browser history in Internet Explorer 7:
  1. Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
  2. The Internet Options dialog window will appear. On the General tab, under Browsing click "Delete".
  3. In the next window click "Delete History"
  4. Click "Yes" to erase history.
  5. Wait for it to finish
  6. Click "OK"

  1. Go to "Edit" menu and select "Preferences".
  2. Select "Navigator" under the "Category" listing.

  6. Click "OK"

Mozilla

To clean browser history in Mozilla:
  1. Go to "Edit" menu and select "Preferences".
  2. Select "Navigator" under the "Category" listing.
  3. Select "Clear History" in the "History" area.
  4. Click "OK" to erase history.
  5. Wait for it to finish
  6. Click "OK"

Mozilla Firefox

To clear browser history in Mozilla Firefox
  1. Go to Tools and select "Options".
  2. The Internet Options dialog window will appear.
  3. Select "Privacy" tab.
  4. Click "Clear" button next to "History".
  5. Click "OK"
  6. Wait for it to finish
  7. Click "OK"
