Pre-conference Sessions for Police

Face It: Elder Abuse Happens: Community of Practice, Taking Action – pre-conference event

This is a closed event for police officers and crown prosecutors.
There is no charge for this event, which includes box lunch and light afternoon snack.

Alberta Seniors and Housing and the Alberta Elder Abuse Awareness Council are co-hosting the Face It: Elder Abuse Happens: Community of Practice, Taking Action Conference. Specialized pre-conference sessions are being planned for police on April 30, 2018.

Sessions will include information to assist police officers in investigating incidents of elder abuse, including financial abuse of older adults, tips to interviewing older adults presenting with memory loss or mental illness, understanding the unique psychiatric illnesses of older adults, and the role of the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee.
